The 2012 edition of NFPA 70E is presently being finalized.  The 2* hazard risk designation in Table 130.7 (C)(15)(a) and Table 130.7 (C)(16) will likely be deleted. If the proposed revision is finalized, all hazard risk category 2 job tasks will require both an arc-rated faceshield as well as a balaclava hood or an arc-rated flash suit hood. The proposed revision will eliminate the distinction between a hazard risk category 2 and 2* task.
